Live Learning
Live Learning is Caribou’s signature approach to gaining deep insight into digital economies.
These immersive experiences are designed to take partners beyond the boardroom and into the heart of markets where innovation, inclusion, and digital transformation are unfolding in real-time.
Caribou offers two tiers of Live Learning. The first is carefully curated five-day market immersions, where participants engage directly with the people shaping and experiencing the digital economy. They meet startup founders, unicorn executives, investors, policymakers, and thought leaders driving innovation and change. Participants also spend time with consumers across the digital literacy spectrum, as well as last-mile agents, gig workers, and small business owners whose everyday experiences ground the promise and reveal the complexities of digital transformation.
The second is Live Learning Fast Tracks. This premium conference add-on offers a single-day deep dive, taking participants directly into the heart of the local digital economy to turn event insight into real-world understanding.
What to expect
Each trip is intimate, bespoke, and designed around participants’ individual learning goals. Whether navigating superapp ecosystems in Jakarta or exploring digital public infrastructure in Nairobi, every detail is crafted to spark fresh insight, build meaningful relationships, and deliver practical understanding that endures long after the trip ends.
Live Learning trips typically consist of four core components
Experiential learning day
Participants take part in an interactive adventure trail across the capital city, designed to immerse them in the digital economy through firsthand use of tools, apps, and services. Along the way, they engage with a range of end-users and navigate real-life use cases across different digital literacy levels and economic settings.
Executive roundtables and company visits
In two to three parallel tracks, participants meet with founders, CEOs, investors, policymakers, NGOs, and product leads—from unicorns to early-stage disruptors. Meetings are documented and shared across the group to ensure broad access to insights and perspectives.
Fireside chats with thought leaders
Candid conversations with local changemakers and sector experts surface perspectives often missed in formal settings. These intimate dialogues create space for honest reflection and offer diverse viewpoints on how industries and markets are evolving.
Rural visit
Small-group field visits introduce participants to rural users and innovators who are adapting digital tools in locally relevant ways. These encounters offer direct insight into how inclusion, infrastructure, and ingenuity intersect beyond urban centers.
How each trip is led
Each trip is guided by local subject matter experts chosen for their deep knowledge of the sector and region. These experts help connect the dots—providing context, synthesis, and critical insight to deepen understanding of what’s being seen and heard throughout the experience.
Caribou provides tailored outputs to support learning before, during, and after the experience
Live Learning briefing book
Before arrival, participants receive an in-depth market and sector landscape tailored to the trip’s themes and individual learning objectives. This serves as both a pre-read and a strategic reference throughout the experience.
Daily trip notes
Each morning, participants receive a digest of the previous day’s engagements—highlighting key insights, quotes, photos, and short video clips—to reinforce learning and enable reflection in real time.
Final insights report, blog, or video
After the trip, Caribou synthesizes the experience into a final output—capturing core lessons, actionable insights, and strategic implications aligned with your goals. This may take the form of a formal report, a blog, or a short video that brings the experience to life.
