This article makes the case that putting user needs at the center of Earth Observation development is vital to ensure satellite tools are truly effective for forest management. It traces how the ESA GDA Forest Management consortium engaged international finance institutions across 11 countries to surface operational challenges and shows how that early dialogue directly shapes the EO products now in development.
