The Independent: Study Says More Women Than Men in Africa Will Likely Lose Outsourcing Tasks to AI

In this Independent article, Caribou is spotlighted for our gender-focused research on automation in Africa’s outsourcing sector. The study, presented at Rwanda’s Global AI Summit, reveals that tasks performed by women are approximately 10 percent more susceptible to automation compared to those carried out by men—a finding that could worsen. There is urgency for targeted upskilling and inclusive AI policies to ensure that technological progress does not inadvertently deepen existing disparities.
