A range of satellite technologies, including satellite communications and Earth Observation (EO), can be utilized to address global sustainable development challenges.

The International Partnership Programme (IPP) was a five-year, £30-million per year program run by the UK Space Agency (UKSA). IPP used the UK space sector’s research and innovation strengths to deliver a sustainable, economic, or societal benefit to developing economies. The projects within IPP span a whole range of themes, including reducing deforestation, disaster response, land-use monitoring, reducing maritime problems, and deploying renewable energy.

Caribou supported UKSA over six years with a wide suite of support, including grantee technical assistance, strategic advisory, and impact assessments including economic evaluation. Caribou also led IPP communications including research publications, web, social media, events, and a knowledge portal.
