In follow-up to the research, funded by the UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub, on potential barriers that we had identified to be preventing technology uptake, Caribou hosted three regional workshops (both in-person and online) to hear directly from members of humanitarian organizations about the system-level challenges that they face in navigating the fragmented and technical landscape of geospatial tools and information.
The ideation workshops resulted in a set of co-created ideas from practitioners working in a wide range of organizations—from smaller, grassroots NGOs to international organization headquarters. A subset of these ideas were developed into short concept notes and presented to the UK Humanitarian Hub to explore for future funding and support.
