Bio
Romain is an Earth Observation specialist with deep experience integrating satellite imagery and spatial analytics into impact evaluations and decision-making. He specializes in combining technical analysis with field-based evidence and collaboration with local stakeholders to generate actionable insights.
At Caribou, he supports the design and delivery of regional workshops, technical mentoring, and capacity-strengthening activities focused on the practical use of Earth Observation for decision-making.
Before joining Caribou, Romain worked as an impact evaluation expert at ADE, contributing to evaluations focused on climate resilience, digitalization, and humanitarian response for organizations including the European Commission, the United Nations World Food Programme, and development cooperation agencies. He also collaborates with organizations including the World Bank, consulting firms, and research institutions to integrate Earth Observation and geospatial analysis into impact evaluation and decision-making processes related to urbanization, disaster risk, forestry, and access to services. He holds master’s degrees in development economics from Maastricht University and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
