Bio
Jesús mobilizes, engages, and nurtures communities, especially in Caribou’s funds and programs portfolio. Through disruptive methodologies, immersive learning, and founder-friendly grant management, he sparks meaningful conversations that lead to shared insights and collaboration beyond funds.
Drawing on his upbringing in the Colombian Amazon, Jesús brings a fresh perspective to social impact, combining a robust skill set in the use of emerging technologies for good with a focus on youth action in the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A certified IBM Enterprise Design Thinking practitioner, he brings user-centered design approaches and tools to insights finding, program design, and community building and management. He is also interested in the dynamics of territorial development, regional inequalities, digital transformation in the Global South, futures thinking, serious gaming, and participatory research.
Prior to joining Caribou, Jesús was the Latin America Regional Lead for the Aspen Institute’s Global Opportunity Youth Network, a consultant in youth career pathways in the digital economy, and a researcher in citizen participation in peacebuilding. Jesús also served as Corporate Social Responsibility Manager for the Andean Countries at IBM, where he spearheaded initiatives on data against human trafficking and education systems in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He holds a BA in politics and international relations from Sergio Arboleda University and a MSc in interdisciplinary studies on development from Los Andes University, both in Colombia. Jesús is based in the UK.
Development is most impactful when it bridges gaps—between businesses and resources, between communities and opportunity, and between ideas and action. By fostering collaboration, we nurture ecosystems where small businesses and underserved communities thrive.
