Bio
Desereé is a people and operations leader who supports organizations through growth, change, and complexity. She specializes in building practical people frameworks, strengthening leadership capability, and guiding teams through moments of transition with clarity and care.
Desereé serves as the Head of People & Culture at Caribou, where she leads global people operations and organizational effectiveness across a fully remote workforce. She sets direction for how Caribou hires, supports, and develops employees and contractors, ensuring people systems are consistent, compliant, and built to scale. In her role, she guides leaders through complex people matters, strengthens governance and policy, and stewards culture, inclusion, and well-being across the organization. Her work translates organizational strategy into clear people priorities that support high performance and accountability.
Prior to Caribou, she held senior HR and people leadership roles across education, technology, retail, and professional services environments. She previously led HR business partnering models, managed and developed HR teams, and guided organizations through restructuring, systems implementation, and organizational change. Alongside this, she has worked independently as a fractional head of people, supporting executive teams with workforce strategy, leadership development, and HR operating model design. Desereé holds a postgraduate diploma in business administration and additional qualifications in strategic change management, coaching, and business process design. She is based in South Africa.
