Annabel leads Caribou’s strategic partnerships to drive growth and impact. She builds relationships with global donors, development institutions, and private sector partners, opening new avenues for collaboration and forging partnerships that amplify Caribou’s impact. She shapes the organization’s growth strategy, identifies emerging opportunities, and steers high-value proposals from concept to contract. Annabel also provides strategic oversight of Caribou’s global program portfolio, ensuring initiatives are positioned to deliver high-quality results and meaningful value for clients and partners.
Annabel has led some of Caribou’s major initiatives, including the Mastercard Strive initiative, a global philanthropic fund supporting the digitization of small businesses. She also managed the Mastercard Foundation Learning Partnership, generating insights to inform and iterate on the Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy through projects such as Platform Livelihoods, Platform-Led Upskilling, and the Partnership for Finance in a Digital Africa.
Prior to joining Caribou, Annabel was Senior Digital Financial Services Manager at MicroSave in Nairobi, providing training, research, and consulting services for digital finance providers across Africa and Asia. Annabel holds an MA in development studies from SOAS and a BA in Spanish from the University of Bristol. She is based in Kenya.
