Bio
Abbie is a specialist in digital agriculture and youth livelihoods, with a focus on translating research and insights into effective strategy and program design. At Caribou, she leads our work in Social Agriculture, exploring the intersection of agriculture, social media, and youth livelihoods. Her recent work also includes edtech and AI-driven shifts in youth employment.
Before joining Caribou, Abbie led a multi-country digital skills initiative at Panoply Digital, working with government partners in Ghana, Malawi, and Senegal. At the GSMA, she produced widely cited research on digital agriculture partnerships, with a focus on business models that drive productivity, financial inclusion, and climate resilience for smallholder farmers.
Abbie holds an MSc in ICT for Development from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a BA in International Relations from the University of Leeds. She is British-Gambian and divides her time between the UK and Senegal.
